Metasearch is an on-line operation that involves all data providers of HarmoSearch. You have two ways to perform this operation. The first one is to fill in the form fields with the search criteria. The second one is to directly submit a textual HarmoSearch query. This alternative is given to allow complex and nested query invocations on the search engine, that could otherwise not be expressed through the simpler and user-friendly form fields interface.
The results are shown as soon as they are received from each data provider. There may be differences in the availability of the result fields depending on the availability at the source. For each result the provider is shown. 'External service' means that the result is coming from an on-line query on the provider, while 'Local index' refers to information that has been crawled on some of the web data providers.
